other end is placed a quadrant, or quar
ter of a circle, graduated in the same
manner. At the center of each of the
circlet of which these platea form aec-
tions, a movable bar turns upon a pivot
in the same manner as the Lands of a
dock. Each of these bars ia graduated
into ten equal parts of the same length
