very soon forgotten. Would that The
effects upon the eyes, induced by their

ment, could be as r adily thrown ijudde.
Our present system of forced early ed
ucation for both sexes offers some pointi
for thoughtful consideration. Girs up
to l'i vein of age arc, as a rule, brigh'er
than hoys, and can under similar cir
cumstances be furl h r advanced in edu
cation. Of a more domestic turn, they
tike readily to books and can he the
more easily induced to study. At Hie
age of 1C or 17 most of the female woild
is Mipposeil to he sufficiently educated to
fit them for society, hence the last two
or three years has been a cramming one

day light and many gas light hours to
