It has already boon announced tint

account of bar being disappointed in not

thus far been kept out of the newspa

Albert Clinton lately at the house of a
mutual friend, I hate profited by my
slight acquaintance to obtain some in-
formatiou regarding the melancholy af
fair. Her Ladysfaip received me court

tell me all she knew of the dreum-
ounces. She herself seemed overcome
with grief, and her eyes filled with terrf

marks about the ratnoro which were in
circulation I told her what I had stated
in my telegram of Thursday evening und
which she pronounced to be in the main
correct.

Albert Clinton then oontinued: Mrs.

years ago with bar son, a lad about
thirteen years of age. I think she met
Lord Ang’rmy for the flrrt time ia Spain.
Whoa she left America she had no idea

her husband, of whom she always spoke
with remorse, but Lord Angieary turned
her bead by promiaing to marry her if
she go’, a divorce. Tnis took time, ao

fate should be a warning to American
women who come abroad without their
legitimate protector*. But she rarely
gave way to these remorseful feelings,
lor she loved Anglesey to dL-tractiou.

Her last meeting with him was on
ffn'iday, June 20. He told her he had
to go to London on business. 8he said
to him, with a sort of instinctive feeling.
You will be tree to me, Henry, and
come back as quickly as yon can? He
replied that he loved her as much as
ever, and parted with her with ov,*ry
demonstration of affection, although he
Knew that ho haul written her a letter,
dated the 19th, the day before, in which
he bade her farewell forever, and gave
her to understand that all was at an end
between them. This latter was handed
to her the next day by Mr. Stone. Lord
Anglesey’s secretary, and it drove her
almost to madams. It was then that I
brought her to my house ; for she had
ne Ir.nds here, land in the letter to which
I have just referred Lord Anglesey g.ve
hef to understand that she must leave
her apartments and write no more than
enc letter to him. To this she wrote a
reply of a most touching character, in
which she appealed to the Marquis’
manhood. Remember, she said, all 1
have lost for you. Can you expect
that God will prosper you or yours when
you are capable of such a dreadful wrong?
In another passage she says, Gan it be
possible tint you have no conscience or
freling or that you, a nobleman, are
willing to turn me out penniless into the
werid after ill your promises, to ray
nothing of your protended affection up
to Mm week before your marriage ?

I was next shown a number of letters
from Lord Aaglesey, authenticated try
his family ooat of arms. They wem alt

commencing with My lovely Annia, My
dearest, and closing with «xlravAgaat as

A correspondence to that effect was com •

replied that their client repudiated
the olicgali iq at to the promise,
and that it would be useless to try and
make a Case, os there was uo law pun

that an offence com milted there could I

this proved to be the case.

"^The deceased took no interest In all
this, the idea of death engrossing her

I<ord Anglesey's marriage. Every effort !
made to calm her was vain and she pacid
up nod down her room the image of
despair. Thu lasted until Wednesday
morning, when on entering her apart
ment, liady Albert CHnton found her in
the last agony, with her eyes glaring,
hands clinched and face so distorted
that she was hord'y recognizable. Tne
servants wore immediately sent for medi
cal aid, bnt it was ten o’clock before a
doctor could be found. Every effort \\us
then made to save the poor sufferer, but
in vain ; *he writhed in dreadftil torture
until about three, when she breathed
her last. When the Marquis heard of
the melancholy event be sent word
through his lawyers that he would oon -
tribute £.*>0 toward the enpenees of the
funeral. The burial lot alone it 8t Get-

lady of refined and pleasing manners.
She wn* oi medium height, w th dark
eyes and hair. Her features kad some
thing of the Jewish cast. She was
graceful and attractive, with especially
pretty hands and feet, snd her figure was
faultless. She was kind and amiable to
an extreme, and of a sweat and forbear
ing dispoaition, her only fault being, as
Lady Albert ( linton aaid that she loved
uot wisely but too well.

The funeral services took p'aec this
morning at the Protestant Kpiaoopul
Church, la the Rue Bayard. Dr. Mor

small, there being only about a do*cu

them were Lady Albert Clinton and
Messrs. Edwards, May, Henry Bacon

sent to America of the suicide of Mrs.
