The Convention met at 12. m., on Monday, the 17th Inst. Reports from thirty white dubs, showing an enrolled membership of 3,30G, and seven affili ated clubs wlrh a memhetshlp of aggregating 3,799 enrolled Democrats In tbs county were received. Some delegations being Incomplete It was deckled that tbs debgaleM present should fill all vacancies. The chair man snnonoeed that tbe first, business In order was tbe election of a county chairman aod other officers to serve for two years, sod the lollowlgg offi cers were elected by acclamation : Chairman. O. B. Lartigue; Vtce-Chalr- men, J. O. Miller, J. W. Holrms,T. H. Johnson and W. R. Brabham. XI e Secretary and Treasurer to be up- pcioted by the chairman. M*. Man- ville. Treasurer for the past four years, made his report, which was re- ferred to a committee consisting of J. T. Martin, M. A. Rountree and T. H. Johnson. A motion to elect delegates to the Btate Convention by a viva voce vote, and alao a motion that tho six nomi nees receiving the highest number of votes be tbe delegatee and the three next highest be alternates, were car- tied, and on the first ballot tbe follow ing gentleqaen were elected : Delegatee—Dr. G. W. Morrell, Al fred Aldrich, G W. M Williams, Dr. J. 8. Stoney, C. E. Lartigue and J. W. Holmes. Alternatee—L. W Yonmans, W. R. Boynton and L. A. Wtight. Judge Maher offered the following resolutions, which were unanimously adopted; Resolved, That the confident ex pectation of the Denjocrirtic party of Barnwell county has been folly realised in the l eneral recognition of the abili ty and fidelity with whlch.our riistic-. gulshed fellow-citizen.
