Frey was sent to make investigations.
He came, and met respectable citizens,
who told him the whole truth, but faith
ful to Ills instructions he accepted the
misrepresentations of Nix as gospel
truths, and, in a bar room, concocted
the previous report which spread broad
cast over Ohio just 011 the cvc of the
late election, contributed to and per
haps secured a Republican tiiumph.
We have interviewed several gentle
men with whom Frey con versed, and with
out exception, and without hesitation
they brand his “report” as utterly ned
wilfully false.
His story has. however, done it?
mission, but wo have faith to believe
that in 1830, a glorious Democratic
triumph will consign Frey and Key to
that oblivion which they nnd buds of
their feather so richly deserve.
Justice to those of our citizens refer

few sentence.;, for no decent man in
Barnwell or the State gives it any credit.
If a cane and Bible ever were present*
ed to Nix—of which we have no person

made, by Col. W. H. Duncau, but Nix’s
whole walk and conversation prove that
he was sadly in need of them and that
