gations in north Georgia are organizing

in the country, but the saints arc de
termined and the field will be abandoned
for a while.

back ward ness of progress in the Southern

the States south of Maryland have con
structed thirty-six hundred and sixty-
four miles of n«w railroads. Considering
the ravages of our civil war in those
States, such a fact does not show much

Beaufort by the young men, to be
known as the “Yura Yum Club.’’ The
object of the club will bo for charitable
purposes; and, judging from the young
men who have already joined, the ob 1
jeet will bo successfully carried out. One
article of their constitution provides for
tbo protection of old maids. Another
imposes a fine on any member who shall
visit a young lady three times without
being successful iu kissing her good
night at the door; another makes it a
fine of 85 on any member who takes
over 24 drinks a day. At the next
regular meeting permanent officers will
