Apropos of the Court Judge Mack

cussed thing should be abolished and

Apropos to truth we arc inclined to
know that Judge Mackey don’t know
trhat ho is talking about, and that in
much of ids law nod some of his taois

accurate as ho dances along in each
stage of his performance .with vague,
regardless eyes. The prisoner's dock is
not a relic of barbarism in fact nor a
barbarous appointment itself. It is a
modern contrivance provided for the
convenience and comfort of the prisoner.
Before its adoption the prisoner was
- - broughtiotoCourt and stood in his shack
les during the trial, more or l«*s subjected
to the jostling and jeers of the multi
tude, a condition of things which n fit-
illustrated by the indignity visited on
our blessed Lord wlien he stood on trisl
before Pontius Pilate and was spit upou
by the angry rabble. Now the tuaua-
