home, tbe negro entered and, presen
ting a loaded gtm at the gentleman’s
wife and daughter, told them If they
made any resistance he would Kill
them.
He then proceeded to rifle tbe
hootp, obtaining a watch, a gun and a
small amount of money. He was
traced as far as Flat Rock, where he
sold the gun to Mr. Stephenson. FrAm

A remarkable aoene occflrred at the
funeral of Wm. H. Tllford, a wealthy
dlttsen of St, Louie, according to the
St. Louis Times Journal. Mr. Tll
