The following resolution was passed
by tbe Millbrook Agricultural Club, of
Aiken, on January llth:
Resolved, That we, the members of
the Millbrook Agricultural Club, do
hereby protest against the action of
tbe guano dealers who lately assem
bled la Augusta, Ga., and we declare
oar determination not to purchase
any fertiliser when tbe price is over
450 pounds of cotton for first-ciaas
ammonlated and 300 pounds for acid
phosphate.
We learn from the Newberry Her
ald that on Friday evening, tbe 17th
Inst., about sunset, while the iron door
opening to tbe cells on the third story
of the jail was being closed, three of
the colored prisoners rushed out.
Their names are Jesse Harmon, Dray
ton Hiller and Peter Williams.' Har
mon ran around the passage way to a
window on the same floor, on the west
side, andjumped to the ground, a dis
tance of forty or forty-five feet. Hie
thigh was broken in two places, and
the bone protruded through the fleeh
and skin, tearing off the flash and
muscles for several inches. The
piece of bone between tbe two frac
tures was shattered. The wholp par
ty were reoaptured.
There Is so money in the State
Treasury, except what Is put there 16
