was severely bruised by being struck

son to parts unknown. Before leaving
he gave his solemn promise to deliver
his horse and buggy in payment of
an account which ho owed one of our
merchants. Instead of doing as he
had promised he' sold tho buggy and
rode tho horse off.
Mr. T. A. Izlar paid our town a visit
last week, and while here favored
some of our ladies with a ride behind
a spanking team of ponies. Lopg

On lust Wednesday evening the
Courthouse Hall was erowded to wit-
jiess a play railed “ IRuiLBcard, ” in
which the actors were scholars of Co 1 .

part well, and some showed taleute
of a high order. *

were treated to a Christmas tiee

_ The Rev. Mr. Dantzler, who has
been appointed to the pastorage of
the Methodist churches at Williston
and Blackvlllc, preached here on Sun
day night last to a large and attentive

made a very favorable Impression on
those present. We welcome this gen
tleman as a pastor, ami trust that he
will make himself at home with us.

Council the propriety of gagging un
ruly prisoners in the guard-house. On
Christmas day Louden Brown made It
unpleasant for those living in the vi
cinity of the town ball by his demoniac
yells, fancying bimself all the whlls at
a camp meeting.
