In ooneluslon, the chairman would

Blackville, Sept. 23,1878.
Several members of the Blackville
Democratic Club having requested'
that a meeting of said club be called
for the purpose of reconsidering the
action of the club In tho election of
certain delegates to the county nomi
nating Convention, at a meeting held
on the 7th instant, aqd an informal
meeting having been ■held On the 20tti
Instant, at which meeting certain par
ties having been voted for as delegates,
and having received a greater number
of votes than many of the delegates
elected on the 7th, thus leaving It
doubtful whether tbe. original dele
gates are the choice of a majority of
the club, and it being ccptrary to the
principles of Democracy tbst there
eho’uld be a minority representation, •&
meeting of the said club is hereby
called, to be held at Blackville on Mon
day next, SOtb jpst., at 10 o’cloqk, to
take Into consideration such matters
connected with the election of said
delegates as may be deemed proper by
the club. . 4
The reasons impelling the call are as
follows:
If the delegates already elected
the real choice of the club, they
certainly be re-elected, and thus
‘wony will be restored.
2. If they are not the choice of a
majority of the club, it is undemocrat

Botanic Medicine Co., Buffalo, N. Y.:
Gentlemen: AboOt three mouths
ago I commenced ueing your “ Ami-
Fat,” at which time my weight was
210 pounds. By following your di
rections carefully I have succeeded iu
reducing my weight to 158 pounds.
This is all very satisfactory and plea
sant: but just previous to my com
mencing the use of your medicine, I
had purchased two suits of line clot,Ires
at a high price, and Bud, to my dismay,
that they are entirely useless to me
now. When I put one of my coals on
my friends tell mo it Jocks like a cof
fee each on a bean-pole, and when I
put tho pants on,—well description
fails. My object in writing is to ascer
tain whether you have not in connec
tion with your medicine business an
stablishmeiit where your patrons,
similarly situated, could exchange
these useless garments for others that
would lit. 1 think yo>u ought to have
something of tbe kind, as it would be
an inducement for many to use the
Anti-Fat who now object to using it in
consequence of the loss they would
sustain in throwing aside valualilegui-
ments. Just turn this matter over in
your mind. “Clothing Exchange” is
what you want in connection with your
Anti-Fat business.

Caul Pechma!n.—Everybody In Barn
well county knows Mr. Pecbman, who,
with the wonderful thrift of tho Ger
man, has made for himself a comfor
table homo and estate iu our new
world. He has in his store everything
kept by country meYcbanta, which be'
offers at very reasonable rates, relying
more enlarge sales and small profits
than on exorbitant charges for his
goods. In his bar you will find beer
that would make Bismark and Kaiser
Wilhelm forget the cares of State, and
the Noodle soup found upon the capi
tal table he keeps is worthy of the fa
mous Fatherland. He will comfort
the hungry and the thirsty and clothe
tho naked, and all for a little money.
S. N. Green.—A live man and a pa

come to us. It will give this thoroughly
reliable gentleman pleasure to serve
you.
Dr. P. F. Stokes.—Gur genial young
friend, Dr. Stokes, has made ahost of-
friends in Blackville and the surround

demeanor, elefce attention to business
select goods, and reasonable prices.
By request of many friends, he has re
cently resumed the practice of medi

to ‘‘interview” them.
Wo call attention to tho new adver
tisement of Otto F. Welters, wholesale
grocer and dealer in cigars, liquors and
tobacco. Charleston. There is no bouse
more popular among cur country deal

the undoubted excellence of tbe goods
furnished by him. We recommend
that our retail deuleru give him a fair
trial. - His representative, Mf. Chap

accommodating.
We call attention to the advertise
ment of Mr. J. Weathersbee in to

of our most energetic planters and
merchants. He has been all his life iden-

of Williston. No man has done more
to develop and improve the village in
which ho has spent a long and active
and useful life.
He has just completed the largest

has ever possessed, and has filled it
with a tine assort ment of goods suitable
for a country f tore. Wo invite atten
