Once these units have been built and installed the duty of keeping them in proper repair falls upon the proper ty owner. Naturally, as time passes, some parts of the units will need re pair, therefore, we advise that all dirt mounds around concrete slab be filled to the proper height. Also, we notice in our inspection of the county that at least 75 per cent, of the units are ren dered very UNSANITARY by the placing of wire or a brick on or under the lid to riser. Such practices destroy the effectiveness and sanitary princi ples of the unit. We ask again that the public, for Its health sake abide by the instruc tions so given in connection with the care of such units. Our desire is to have a sanitary unit at each and every home in the county. This is a very important step in the eradication of typhoiB fever and the hookworm and we earnestly ask and plead with every citizen to get in touch with the sanitary supervisor, who will be glad to construct a com plete unit at any time.—County Health Department.
