Miss Blanche Bennett, who has been teaching at McColl, returned to Barn well this week to spend the summer with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Bennett. Dr. and Mrs. John M. Sartin, of Atlanta, Ga., spent the week-end in Barnwell with friends. Mrs. T. R. Brown returned home Sunday, after appending some thne with her parents m Logoff. Miss Elizabeth Kennedy, of Lugoff, is spending some time here with her sister, Mrs. Ralph Brown. Immediately sfter the ceremony and the informal reception which tallowed, Mr. and Mrs. Hagood left for a wedding trip, which will take them into Canada. After July 1, they will be at home in Barnwell. At the reception which followed, Mrs. W. H. Hodges, Jr, received the guests, and Mrs. Erban W. Kennedy invited them into the dining room, where Miss Margaret Hodges and Miss Gertrude Goodwin served block cream and cake. The table was centered with a lovely bowl of white roses and slender tapers. The bride’s cake was graced by e chariot of frosted lilies of the valley, in which rode a minia ture bridal couple, driving three white swans. White roses and white mari- prises falling to Evangeline Carter and Eugone Easterling. They were then invited into the dining room where a green and yellow color scheme was carried out. Streamers were draped from the chandelier and caught at the corners of the dining room table. The birthday cake was the table’s centerpiece, above which hung a shower of allday suckers.
