Mis* Kathryn Holland entertained at seven table* of bridge at the home her home on Main Street. The high of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. A. score piize for club member* was won, Holland, on Friday afternoon in honor by Mrs. Wilson W’aiker, who was pre-J of Miss Hettie Mathis, of Blackville, sented with a* vase, and the consola tion prize, also a vase, was cut by Mrs.J. P. Scoville. The high score prize for guests, an ash tray, was awarded Mrs. Calhoun Lemon, while the consolation prize for -guests, a vanity set, was cut by Mrs. Ralph E. Brown. The hostess also remembered two recent brides with gifts, Mrs. Cal houn Lemon with a lace scarf, and Mrs. B. P. Davies, Jr., with a box of silk hose. Baxley entertained at her home on Jackson Street Saturday afternoon in honor of her young son. Henry Lucus Baxley, who passed his fifth milestone on that day. Two con tests were held. The first was pin ning on the donkey's tail with Sarah English Patterson, the fir! winner. whose marriage to Mr. Marvin Hol land, brother of the hostess, will be solemnized next month. The living room and dining room were thrown en suite and tables ar ranged for cards. At the end of the afternoon’s play it was found that Miss Rosalie Spann had won the high score prize and she was awarded a three-division candy dish, while the consolation prize, note paper, was cut by Mrs. C. M. Turner, of Ellenton. The low score prize, a bon-bon dish, was awarded Miss Smith. Miss Holland presented the honor guest with a pair of boudoir lamps. A salad course with iced tea was served.
