Jr., a recent bride, was remembered
by the hostess with a deck of cards.
At the conclusion of the afternoon’s
play at cards Mrs. Scoville served ice
cream and cookies. Those enjoying
the afternoon other than club mem
bers included Mrs. Nathan Kartus, of
Alabama, Mrs. Edgar Loyns, of El-
loree, Mrs. S. J. Pratt, of Iva, Miss
Rosalie Spann, Mrs. C. A. Ritchie,

BRIDGE CLUB.
Mrs. W. J. Baxley entertained the
members of the Junior-Smart Set
Bridge Club at her home on Friday
afternoon. The high score prize for
club members, ashtrays, was award
ed Mcs. Basil M. Jenkin s and the con
solation prize for club members, fin
gertip towels, were cut by Mrs. Mor-
decai Mazursky. Mrs. B. P. Davies,
won the high score prize for guests
and was presented with a box of dust
ing powder, while Mrs. R. E. Brown
cut the consolation prize for guests
and was given fingertip towels. Mrs.
B. P. Davies, Jr., a recent bride, was
presented with fingertip towels by
the hostess. Mrs. Baxley served ice
cream, cake and punch. Those enjoy
ing the game other than club mem
bers included Mrs. B. P. Davies, Mrs.
R. E. Brown, Mrs. Charlie Brown, Sr.,

Revival Services at Ashleigh.
The People-Sentinel has been re
quested to announce that revival ser
vices will begin in the Ashleigh Bap
tist Church next Sunday evening, Au
gust 9th, at eight o’clock. Thereafter
services will be conducted twice daily
by the pastor. The public is cordial
ly invited to attend.
Camptign Meeting at Williston.
The third of the regularly scheduled
county campaign meeting* will be
held at Williston tomorrow f Friday I
in the auditorium of the Williston

derstood that an organisation of Wil

Allendale, Aug. 1.—Of interest to
their many friends in this section is
the announcement of the marriage of
Miss Dorothy Moody, of Appleton, and
I». B. Cave, of Olar and Barnwell.
The ceremony took place Friday after
noon at the Baptist parsonage, with
the Rev. R. H. McKinnon officiating.
The bride, who is th • eldest daugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. William Moody,
of Appleton, was attired in a navy
blue en-emble, with matching acces
sories. She received her education in
the public schools of Allendale, later
graduating from the Baptist h&spital
in Columbia.-
Immed at.ly following the wedding
the young couple left for a trip to
North Carolina, and upon their return
will make their home in Barnwell,
where Mr. Cave is engaged in business.
