found to be necessary to amputate her

Ocala, Fla., spent the week-end with
Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Fuller.

Blease Harley, who received ia in
jury some time ago and was taken to
the Fort Moultrie Hospital near Char
leston for treatment. Aa, recovered
sufficiently to return home, and it is
the hope of his fnend a that he will
soon be out again.
Lieut. James Riley McNab, son of
Mr. and Mrs. W. E. McNab, received
a painful though not sertou* knee in
jury m an automobile wreck near the
(VC camp at which he is stationed in
(Florida. Lieut. McNab is recuperat
ing at the army hospital in Fort Ben-
mng, Ga.

Mrs. B. P. Davies returned home
Sunday after spending several weeks
with relative^ in North Carolina and
a week at Myrtle Beach, where she
was joined by Mr. Davies for the
week-end. Her friends will be glad to
know that she is much improved in
health following a recent tonsil opera
tion.

Jewel Ennis, and Francis Marion
Lemmon, of Winnsboro, Friday, July
24th.
Mrs. Lemmon is a graduate of Win-
throp College and hag taught in the
schools of Barnwell and Spartanburg
Counties.
■ Mr. Lemmon, the son of Mr. and
Mrs. W. J. Lemmon, of Winnsboro, is
a graduate of Clemson College and
at present is a teacher in the Cross
Anchor high school.

Bridge Club at her home on Marlboro
Stieet on Thursday of last week.
Misg Rosalie Spann was awarded the
high score prize for club members, a
traveling kit, while Mrs. Mordecai M.
Mazursky cut the consolation prize
for club members, six glass ice tea
coasters. The high score prize for
guests, a candy dish and cover, was
won by Mrs. Edgar Loyns, and the
consolation prize for guests, a con
tract bridge scorer, wa s cut by Mrs.
Edgar A. Brown. Mrs. B. P. Davies,
Jr., a recent bride, and Miss Jewel
Gross, a bride-elect, were remembered
by the hostess with breakfast cloths.
Mrs. Don Wright a bride of June, was
presented with a lovely hand towel,
and Mrs. H. A. Gross, who assisted
in serving, was also remembered with
a gift. At 'the conclusion, of play,
Mrs. Jenkins, assisted by Mrs. Gross,
served a delicious salad course with
iced tea. Those playing other than club
