Drew, Mrs. Johnson Hagood, Mrs. Mordecai Mazuisky, Mrs. Angus Patterson, Miss Rosalie Spann, of Sumter, and Mrs. Ralph Smith, of Alabama. ENTERTAIN IN HONOR OF RECENT BRIDE. Ridge Spring, June 23.—On Friday, June 19th, Mrs. Albert L. Elkin, a bride of June 14th, was delightfully entertainedl by Mrs. David B. Elkin and Miss Susie Bonnette at the home of the former. The rooms were at tractively decorated with ferns and fragrant garden flowers. The hostesses and bride received in the hall. From the receiving line the guests were directed to the bride’s book, which was displayed on a table graced with a miniature bride and groom under a vase of lilies. Misse s Tillie Wright and Evelyn Jordan, nieces of the bride, served punch from ivy-banded bowls on the porch. Mrs. Reuben Asbill and Mr!! St. Claire Asbill presided in the gift room. v • Mis s Virginia Watson rendered a program of appropriate piano selec tions and Misses Evelyn Jordan and Frances' Asbill delighted the guests with several humorou s readings. Little David Elkin led the bridle by the hand into the gift room and presented her with about 50 beautiful and' useful gifts, after which the hostesses, assisted! by the little girls, served ice cream and angel cake. Out-of-town guests who enjoyed the occasion were Mrs. E. F. Woodward, of Barnwell, mother of the bride; Miss Sara Harmon and Mrs. Dan Zimmerman, of Saluda; Mrs. Cyril Asbill, Mrs. Leon Cato, Miss Louise Steven s and Mrs. Fred Wills, of Mo- netta. Denmark, June 20.—Of much inter est throughout the State was the lovely wedding of Miss Annie Mar garet Zeigler and Benjamin Pechmann Davies, Jr., which took place at 5:30 Thursday afternoon, June 18, at the heme of the biide’ s mother, Mrs. R. L. Zeigler, Sr. The Rev. A. F. Ragan, pastor of the bride, performed the ceremony in the presence of the dose- est relatives and friends of the cou ple. The improvised altar was arranged in a large bay window at the end of the living room. A full-length mirror formed the background, reflecting the light of white cathedial cam.les in seven branched candelabra, and tall floor baskets held Confedeiate jasmine, white gladioli and fern. A program of nuptial music was rendered by Mrs. E. H. Henderson, of Bamberg, pianist; Mrs. J. C. Kinard, of Ninety-Six, violinist, and Mrs. H. N. Folk, of Bamberg, soprano, ell cousins of the bridle.
