Those In charge found Camp Long an ideal place for putting into etfect the desir ed program. The camp site, near Aiken, is in the hills and though a new development, a plant valued at $7,000 has been set up and plans have been made for further development. At present four completed log cabins stand on the hills and provide com fortable sleeping quarters for camp ers. The main cabin contains kitchen and dming room facilities with space for recreation. At the foot of the hills is a lake, making possible swimming and boating. A small but effeient staff is work ing under Theo Vaughan, camp direc tor. Miss Ruth Vaughan and Romaine Smith, in charge of music and recrea tion, taught the girls songs and games; Mr. Vaughan with the aid of Julian Hanltinson gave swimming in- stiuctions and Red Cross tests. STEEL ALONE IS NOT ENOUGH! — neither strong enough, nor safe enough, nor quiet enough for the body of a quality car like CHEVROLET v' /a g.- i STEEL BODY 0 There is only one type of body construction which Chevrolet will permit on the chassis of the cars it builds: That’s the type which every test — and f cry experiment — and every experience has proved to be the safest, strongest, and best. Not steel alone, because steel alone is not enough. But a Fisher body of steel reinforced by hardwood! The same kind of construction used on practically all the highest-priced cars in America. Chevrolet well knows that steel alone has one distinct advantage: it’s cheaper. Steel also is strong—up Jo a certain point. BUT—beyond that point, steel alone will bend and crumple under severe stress or shock. It takes the strength and supporting solidity of a hardwood reinforcement to give you the full protection and full satisfaction you want in a motor car body today. If you’re thinking of buying a new low-priced car, better watch this matter of bodies, and watch it carefully. Insist on steel reinforced by hardwood! Fortunately, the only low-priced car with this preferred type of body is also the only car with a proven valve-tn-head six; with Fisher Ventilation; Cushion-Balanced Power; a Starterator. That car it Chevrolet—America's most economical automobile. CHEVROLET MOTOR COMPANY, DETROIT. While we are prone to count as unique the vagaries of laws paased by the Florida legislature, we “haven’t (‘hot fiom taw,” as the boys who play m-rble* say. In the way of laws there a:e queeier things in many other States Hian has ever been nsted in Florida. We give a few fronv the following list that has bem going the lounds of the press. We have no idea who compiled the list: “A North Carolina statute says twin beds must be at least two feet apart. In Kan sas a law provides that every public building-must be provided with cuspi dors. It h against the law in Nebras ka for women to wear skirts more than eight inches from the sidewalk. In Joliet, 111.,' it is unlawful for a woman to try on more than six'dress es in any one store. A Wisconsin law forbids the use of the phonograph af ter 11 p. m. In Bellingham, Wash., a law provides that a woman must not make more than three steps back wards when dancing.
