THE BARNWELL PEOPLE-SENTINEL, BARNWELL, SOUTH CAROLINA
THURSDAY, MARCH 10, 1932.
A PERSONAL STATEMENT
The restoration of banking
facilities to Barnwell has been
accomplished after months of
hard work, and only after it ap
pears that reorganization of the
Bank of Western Carolina is
hopeless and, if possible at all,
would come only after months
of delay and after the town and
community had suffered irre
parable injury on account of
the lact of banking facilities. I,
therefore, determined, at what
ever financial sacrifice, to organ
ize a strong, sound, going bank
for the town of Barnwell and
this section of South Carolina.
My association and friendship
with certain wealthy outside
citizens, including my friend,
%
Mr. C. G. Fuller, who has locat-
r
ed in Barnwell permanently and
cast his lot with us, have been
rewarded bv an immediate re
sponse* to subscribe whatever
necessary capital w r e needed for
\ *
a SOUND BANK IN BARN
WELL. The result is THE
BANK OF BARNWELL, which
I commend to the people of the
county and ask for it unstinted
support at the hands of the peo-
*
pie of the county. The TTsources
of those behind The Bank of
Barnwell run into the millions
of dollars, a fact which assures
us of immediate and complete
banking connections throughout
the country, with that confidence
which is so necessary in success
ful banking. - -
EDGAR A. BROWN.

_ The business men who have put their monfcy into this institution have done so -

FIRST. Because they believe that no community can prosper, or even con
tinue to do business, withput adequate banking facilities.

SECOND. Because they believe that they can render a distinct sei*vice to
Barnwell County at this time. ' * *

THIRD. Because they desire a safe place to keep their own money.
The Bank is Prepared to Take Care of Any Reasonable
Requirements of the Business Community.

A PERSONAL WORD.
% •
I moved to Barnwell three
years-ago. I liked the town and
- -
its people so much that I have
, +
sold my home in the North and
have located here pernyinently.
I have done business in several

States and have been all over
«
this country, but I have never
seen any place where the possi
bilities are greater than right
here in Barnwell County. I think
this so much that I have decided
*• •
to put a considerable amount of
money into The Rank of Barn-
«
well and consented to accept the
presidency of the new institu
tion. I want a safe place to
keep my own money and 1 am
going to have one for the peo
ple of this community to keep
theirs. The bank is going to be
-• •
run on business principles.
Loans will be made according to
the ability of the borrower to

ger and better Barnwell.
