Farm Women to Meet.
The Farm Women of the sixteen
counties of Central District of South
Carolina Council of Farm Women are
planning to attend in large numbers
th e annual fall meeting of the Coun
cil in Edgefield on Saturday, Novem
ber 7th.
A very interesting program has
been planned by Mrs. L. C. Chappel,
of Likesland, district director, wKh
several speakers cf note. Each Coun
cil president has been asked to make
a report of her Council’s work for
the past year. For the best report
made a gavel, offered by Miss Bessie
Harper, district Agent, and on lad
year by Bkamberg County, will be
awarded again fhis yea r to the presi
dent cf th? winning Council.

because it is made from the timber
taken from the^ White House in Wash
ington. Another gavel will be pre
sented by the directo r to tth e County
Council having the largest delegation
present.
The meeting will be held in the
School House in Edgefield, beginning
promptly at 10:30 o’clock. The local
Council, under Mrs. J. J. Mason as
president, will act as hostess, though
all visitors will- bring a “Finger
lunch.”
