Bronson entertained the members of the Junior-Smart Set Bridge Club Thursday afternoon. The high score prize 'for club mem bers, a novel door stop, was won by Mrs. LeRoy Mclair; the high score prize for guests, a boudoir pillow, was won by Mrs. -Walton Padgett, and the consolation, a cup towel, was cut by Mrs. Mordepni Mazursky. The hostess served a sweet course with iced tea. Besides the club members, the guests were Mrs. B. H. Smith, of Columbia, was an event of cordial interest Saturday. The home was beautifully decorated with mas 4 e s of pink roses.. Carrying'.out the color scheme of pink and white, the- hostess served .pipk and white cream, pink and white heart-shaped cakes and mints of the same color. Mrs. Marie Mace won high score prize, a box of bath cubes in pastel shades. Mrs. Carrie Herndon cut consolation, a bridge pad, and the guest of honjr was presented with an attractively decorated pair of shoe trees. After refreshments were served, the hostess presented the bride-elect with many useful and lovely gifts from the guests present^ DEASON-SMITH • ‘ ' WEDDING. One of the prettiest weddings of the season was that of Mis s Marian Elizabeth Deason to Lieut. Michael G. Smith, of the United States Army, which occurred Saturday afternoon at .five o’clock at the home of the bride in Barnwell. The ceremony, marked by its simplicity, wa s per formed by Dr. W. M. Jones, pastor of the Barnwell Baptist Church, the im pressive ring ceremony being used. The lower floor of the home was thrown en i*<uite and made beautiful with quantities of pink and white flowers and fern. Preceding % th e cere mony, Mrs. Periy A. Price sang “AH for You.” Entering the ceremony room to the strains of Mendelssohn’s Wedding March, played by Mi-s Margaret Scarborough, the bride and groom proceeded to the Improvised altar, banked \\ith massive ferns and pink tapers in tall candelabra. During the ceremony Mrs. Price scfftly sang/‘I L v* V u Tiuly.” The tuide, a dainty brunette of ex ceptional beauty and charm, was a picture of loveliness in a gown of pale pink net. fashioned on long lines, a full frilled skirt and tight bodice with quaint cape collar.
