That, In brief, is th# story of Mr Bell's life. While quite a young lad living on hU father's farm, he was offered a job in the post office and general store at White Pond. He promptly accepted and from thtt day to this his rise has been steady and though he has oc cupied many positions of honor and trust, always with an increase in salary, they have been offered to him voluntarily by those who recognized his merit. The fact that there was not even a whisper of opposition to his candidacy i^ a splendid endorse ment of his brief tenure of office and a vindication of the good judgment of Senatcr Edgar A. Brown in securing hit appointment. Mr. Bell wa^”appointed to hit present position last March to fill out the unexpired term of the late Capt. J. B.
