Club this year should not be a com
plete success and, as heretofore, will
bo the moans of carrying Christmas
cheer to many homes that might oth
erwise bo overlooked by old Santa in
his huriied trip around the world.
Information has just reached the
organisation that the Board of Direc
tors will again this year make s dona
tion to this worthy cause. Miss Car
rie Cave, who had for the past two
years furnished hats and coats to so
many of these needy ones, hag just
sent a message that she can be count
ed on again this year, Mrs. Julia B.

Yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon
the little girls met and carried their
dolls and books to the home of Mns.
Greene and a committee will assist
the girls in making new dresses and
otherwise making over the dolls. In
as much as this-meeting was not sche
duled to be held until Wednesday the
names of the girls will not appear un
til next week’s issue.
Every dollar put into this work will
be well spent
Let everyone remember to send the
fclothing to the Court House this week
not later than thig (Thursday) morn
ing, leaving same at Mr. Armstrong’s
office. Work will begin in earnest at
ten o’clock Thursday morning, when
the various committees named herein
will work in shifts of two hours each
until all work is completed.
The management of the Vamp
Theatre had a picture last evening
(Wednesday) for this cause, and on
Christmas Night all of those receiving
baskets will be given tickets to at
tend a splendid picture at that popular
theatre. The inmates of the County
Home will be included also.

Association held their annual session.
At the conclusion of that meeting, the
doctors and their wivea embarked at
Key West for Havana. Theft were
several hundred in the party and
they were shown marked attention by
the Cuban officials and physicians.
Among other things they were re
ceived by President Machado and
viaited the new capHol building, which
is a replica of the national capitol in
Washington, though somewhat small
er. The members of the party were
wined and dined in the style that pre
vailed in these United States ii> the
year B. V. D. (Before Volstead Did).
Dr. and Mrs. Briggs also enjoyed
a motor trip of about 100 miles into
the interior of Culm, over the splendid
road built by the late Gen. Leonard

One of the most encouraging fea
tures of the work is the splendid coop-
cration of the children. Monday af-
ternoon "Mrs. Greene organized the
^Junior Goodfellows Club at the office
of The People-Sentinel and about 25
boys were present. Notice had been
given in school Monday asking that
all toys be taken to Mr. Davies’ office
and before the time arrived the room
was overflowing with toys. After the
organization was completed the work
of mending, painting, etc., of the toys
began in earnest. Mrs. B. P. Davies
will have entire charge of this part of
the work and the workshop hat proven
to be a very interesting place. Charles
Burckhalter has been made director

Post-season Football Game.
A post-season football game be
