; Blackville, March 2.—The Wednes
day Afternoon Book club met this
week with Mrs. H. A. Kich. An article,
4 ‘Women djid World Peace,” by Mrs.
John F. Simple, president of the Gen
eral Federation of Women’s Clubs, was
read by Mrs. D. K. Briggs. An open
discussion of ^Friendship” followed a
reading by Mrs. T. L. Wragg, “A
Friend in Need,” by 0. 0. McIntyre.
The hostess served a salad course.
Three tables of bridge were enter
tained at the home of Mrs. G. F. Posey
Monday afternoon.
Mrs. Somers Pringle was hostess to
a party of friends at bridge Tuesday
afternoon.
Mrs. G. M. Magruder, Mrs. James
Nerils, Mrs. G. F. Posey. Mrs. Pearl
Mathis, Miss Helen Weissinger, Miss
Emily Ingram, Mbs Elizabeth Shillito
and Miss Eugenia Still were guests
of Mrs. H. L. Buist Friday afternoon.
Bridge was enjoyed. Date souffle and
chocolate were served.
The regular Thursday Afternoon
Bridge club met this week with Mrs.
Somers Pringle. Three tables were
laid. Miss Rosa Rich ,held high score
’and Mts. Robert Smith cut guest
prize. Mrs. Schirmer, of Charleston,
was a guest. The hostess served de
licious refreshments.

Priscilla Embroidery club Friday af
ternoon.
Mrs. Ernest Weatherhorn left for
Charleston Tuesday, where she Vill
make her home. A score of friends
regret her leaving Blackville, 'where
she will be missed from the round of

koff. An interesting contest was pro
vided by the little hostess. Miss
Meyer was winner of low score and
Myrtis Boland high score prize. Red
white and blue colors and small hatch
ets were used. Refreshments carrying
out the color scheme were served.
