N .Folk attended a r.one meeting in Aiken Wednesday of last week of the Methodist Missionary oociety. Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Smith and family motored to New Holland Sat urday to attend a barbecue dinner given in honor of Mrs. Smith’s father, G. W. Lybrand. The occasion was to celebrate his 80th birthday and all of his children, grandchildren and a num ber of frends were present to enjoy the day with him. Miss Harrfett Sellers returned Mon day from her home m Pauline, where she was called on account of the death of her aunt, Mrs. Mary Shad. J, C. Matthews and Mr. Sikes, of Augusta, were guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Toole. Mr. and Mrs. B. R. Lewis, of Au gusta, spent the week-end with Mrs. G. M. Toole. They ware accompanied by Anna Rosa Bracy, who visited her grandmother, Mrs. J. C. Hair. Mrs. A. M. Kennedy ih visit ng her daughter, Mis. E. P. Riley, in Green ville. Mr. and Mrs. F. N. Calvary section, which was solemnzed at Mt. Calvary church Sunday evening, the Rev. Mr. Shealy officiating. There were a laige number of friends and relatives present. Los Angeles.—Little to compare with the monstrous data lit of the murder case against Stewart Gordon North cott, tn^nty-one, and his mother, Mrs Louise* Northcott, sixty, ever has been written in the crime records of south ern California. Northcott, a boy who dressed In girl’s clothing, played with dolls, and was treated as u daughter by his pam pering mother until he reached six teen, changed with little delay Into a lierson of wild temper and outlandish habits, according to his father. The father, Cyrus George Northcott, who "knew there was something wrong, but thought things would get better,’’ never passed such years of torment as the last three years after lie had moved tils family from western Canada to southern California In an effort to make things more favorable to the control of his son. The Northcott family formerly lived for a time in Kamloops, B. 0., near which town the alleged killer of little boys was arrested by Canadian pro- viuclal police. Got Into Trouble Early. The Northcotts, who had amassed enough money from their Canadian farm to establish themselves In a new California by another Canadian family, the Scotts.
