Fire of unknown origin completoly
destroyed the barn of Robt. A. Pat

o’clock yesterday (Wednesday) morn
ing. Three mules which were in the
stables whin the alarm was given
were removed to places of safety.
The bam was located in the rear of the
residence of the late Congressman J.
O. Patterson and it is thought that
the fire was caused by a careless

New Ford Seen Here.
The main attraction in Barnwell
this week was one of the new model
Ford loadsUfo, which was on display
at the show room of the Dicks Auto
Company this week. The car was
driven to Barnwell by a factory rep
resentative and attracted a jjieat
deaf of Yavorahle comment. It was
viewed by scores of p«r>ple^and the
universal opinion seemed to be that
“Henry” had made good with his
new car.
The new model’s only resemblance
to the old Model T is the namu It is
a completely different car from front
bumper to tail light, being lower
swung and possessing pleasing, racy
lines. It is said t<\he capable of
making f>0 to G5 miles an hour. The
new line should prove very popular
and Ford dealers throughout 'the
country are anticipating a lantf-office.
business.

"The Dust of the Earth.”
A small but appreciative audience
greeted the performancn of “The
Dust of the Earth,” which was^ pre
sented at' the Vamp Theatre Tuesday
evening by the faculty .of the.Willis
ton-Elko High School under the aus
pices of the Barnwell School Improve
ment Association. But for the fact
that the same play was presented
here a few' months ago by Allendale
talent, the attendance would have
been very much larger. >
The People-Sentinel would like to
givoa detailed account of the play and
splendid work of those taking part,
but suffice it to say that tha review 7
given by The Williston Wajr, -which
w’as reproduced in last weel^iasue of
this paper as an advance notice, was
not overdrawn in the least. An or
chestra composed of musicians of
Williston and Elko also added greatly
to the enjqytnent of the occasion.
The proceeds, less certain expen
se*. were for the benefit of the local
association.
