members of the Wednesday Afternoon
Bridge Club last week. • The high
score prize was won by Mrs. Thos. M
Boulware and ! the consolation was
cut by Mr*. S. B. Moseley. A sweet
course was served after the games.

ENTERTAINS.
Mrs. T. A. Holland entertained in
formally. Monday evening from eight
to twelve o’clock, complimentary to
her niere, Misg Eugenia Dunbar, of
Washington, D. C. The home was a
scene of loveliness, as the yoffbg
couples, in evening attire, lent grace
and charm to the occasion. Dancing
was the chief amusement for quite a
number of the guests, while othc r s
were entertained with bridge. Punch
was served during the evening by
little Misses Lucy Dunbar and Kath
ryn Holland.

BRIDGE CLUB ENTERTAINS
LOCAL TEACHERS.
The teachers of the Barnwell school
were delightfully entertained by the
Smart Set Bridge Club on Wednesday
afternoon of last wecik at the home of
Mrs. H. J. Phillips. Five table* for
bridge were placed in the music room,
which was attractively decorated in
yellow flowers and Halloween sym
bols.* The spirit of Halloween was
further .carried out in tallies, place
cards and favors.
At the conclusion of the game, it
was found that the high score prize
a silver necklace with rose pendant,
had been won by Miss Blanche Ellis,
the consolation, a boutonnkire of wool
flowers, went to Miss Margaret Free,
and the booby rize, a Halloween nov
elty, fell to Miss Hazel Coleman. A
salad course with iced tea was served
During the afternoon, several mu
sical selections were rendered by Miss
Ella Louise Molaij.

to judges and Mrs G. M. Greene,
leader of .Group Two, was declared
the winner and presented with a
large stick, of candy. The hostess
then gave to each member of her
group a small bank, in which they

ea>ch week and at the end of the year
this group would’have raised $100.00
for the organ fund.
During the evening delicious re
freshments were served, consisting of
