CHAPTER MEETS.
On last.Friday afternoon, the 27th
ult. at the Circle Inn was held one of
the largest and most enthusiastic
meetings the Johnson Hagood Chap
ter, U. D. C., has held in quite. a
while. The horteases on this occas
ion being Mesdames T. D. Creighton,
Herbert Black, B. S. Moore, Cora
Brooker and Misses Carrie Cohen and
^ena Cave. The meeting was culled
to order by the president,'Mrs. R. S.
picks, and after the reading of the
fninutes and (roll call quite a good

banding for the summer months.

Olar High School Closes.
Dlar, May- 27.—-The 16th annual
oommencement of the Olar high
school will begin next Sunday with
sermon by the Rev. W. M. Jones,. D.
D^ of Barnwell, to be delivered at the
Baptist church.
A music recital will take place
Wednesday evening, June 1, and the
graduate play, “Eyes of Love," on
Thursday evening.* Friday evening,
June 8, will be the graduaing exer-
cises. The address of the occasion
