Planting Strawberry
Acre at Barnwell
Plant are now being made with a
number of businets men and farmers
for the planting of sufficient acreage
of strawberries around Barpwell for
the marketing of car lot loadings.
County. Agent Harry Bbylaton has
the cooperation of a number of folks
who already express a desire to sec
that this acreage i* planted and no
trouble ia expected in getting the
acreage needed.
It is planned that no farmer is to
plant over a small acreage. Three to
four acres should be the maximum if
a large number of farmeta will plant
some, from 1-2 to 2 acres each, tak
ing proper care of them. There is no
doubt but what they should make a
profit in as much as we have about 10
days of open season where there is
very little competition. f
It is planned how that the straw
berry plants will be set during early
fall—about September 15th. All
farmers^ interested in planting straw
berries should take the matter up with
the county agent at once in order that
he may make plans for getting plants
for setting. It will probably take
7,000 to 9,000 plants per acre. Exact
prices will be in hand now very soon.
All folks interested are urged to make
plans now for setting their straw
berries in early fall.—H. G. Boylston,

Elienton Girl Painfully Burned.
Ruth Wanen Justus, 5-year-old
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Jus
tus. of Elienton, was painfully burned
at her home Friday, when her clothing
caught fire. She was brought to the
Maigarct Wright hospital here for
treatment.—Augusta Chronicle, July

children have returned home after a
