will learn with regret that he is con
fined to his bed following a stroke
of paralysis. He ts a painter by
trade and for many years has been
a familiar figure around the Court
House during the terms of Court It
is hoped that he will soon be able to
get out again.

Bridge Measure Passes.
Washington, July 2,—Authorization
to Georgia and South Carolina to con
struct a bridge across the Savannah
River at Burton’s Ferry to connect
highways between Allendale and Syl-
vania, Ga., is proposed in a bill by
Representative Edwards, Democrat,
Georgia, passed by the House today
The measure now goes to the Senate.

Three Drown at Myrtle Beach.

W. E. Osteen and his two sons-in-
law, Robert Blackwell and James Gee,
all of Florence, were drowned in the
xurf at Ocean Drive Estate, 17 miles
North of Mritle Beach, Sunday af
ternoon while bathing. The two
young men lost their lives in a vain
effort to save the eldest of the trio,
who is thought to have suffered an
attack of acute indigestion short]/‘af
ter entering the water.
