The winner of the contest will have railroad fare paid to and from Savannah, will be entertained while there without cost to her, and will receive many honors. Some representative will receive $100.00 in gold. ^ 1 Among the many .things she will participate in will be tfye following: i • Mammoth parade^of County representatives with automo biles from her county back of her. Forty counties nave been asked to send representatives w'hile many cities further removed from Savannah than the counties have been asked to send floats. The float for the young lady representative Barnwell will be furnished free by some progressive Savannah business house. It will he. the work of spetral decorators. Assist in the coronation ceremony of llhe queen of the carni val and then witness a spectacular and beautiful program on the big Baffin Park Lake. She will have a prized seat from which she can have a View of the big program. \\ * 1 i Sho will be exteirded courtesies at the regatta where the South’s fastest motor boats will contest for supremacy. Thef coronation hall, staged amid thousands of lantern.* and decorations befitting such a gala occasion, will remain a lifer long memory. There will be a big night parade. Just prior to the boll, in whk-h 25 of the most beautiful floats, which will have appeartyl in the parade on July 5th, will he electrically lighted. * ■ • . , • • * ' Aftc.r the young lady is selected to represent Barnwell she will seek to have aa many automobiles at Savannah as possible from thus county. These automobiles will be given A place in Ihe parade on July 5th just hack of the float on which ‘‘Miss Barnwell” will ride. The young lady representative having the most automobiles from her county hack of her float in the parade will receive $100.00 in gold. Thus the young lady from this county, in addition to having a free trip to Savannah with expenses paid and many honors extended her, will have an opportunity pf contesting for the $100.00. Of course, we can count on the people of Barnwell County going to Savannah in great numbers. All events will be free. VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE. Rules of Contest. V't The qualifications, for representative calls for her being at least 16 years old and unmarried v SJie must agree to be present at all the events of the Water Carnival, July 5-6, 1926. J The selection will be made under the following plan: Every merchant and business house represented on this page of The People-Sentinel will give 25 votes with each 25*- cash purchase (or twice that amount for every 2f>c paid on account.) These tickets will have H blank line on which the name of the young lady for whom the holders wish to vote, may be written.
