Death of a Little Boy.

Mrs. Eugene Easterling and little
daughter, of Greensboro, N. C., are
soending some time in tl\e city with

Meessrs. Millard Creech, of Esiilt,
and Monnie Creech, Metter, Ga., were
the guests of Mr. T- J- Creech, of
the Double Pond section, Sunday.
Joe Tyler, the 24 months old son
of Mr. and Mm. Robert A. Patter
son, of Barnwell, died m an Augusta
hospital Saturday morning after an
illness of several days. All that was
possible was don? to stay the sum
mons of the Grim Reaper, but the
skill of physicians and the tender
nursing of loving hands were unavail
ing and now the pure white spirit is
safe in the arms of Him who said
“Suffer Kttle children to come unto
Mo.” The Itytie body was brought
back to Barnwell ’ and kdd to rest
Sunday morning in the Episcopal
Churchyard, the funeral services
being conducted a t the home of Mrs.
J. O. Patterson by the Rev. R. W.
Humphries. in % the presence of a
large number of relatives and
friends.' The sympathy of the entire
community goes out to the bereaved
parents in their dark hour of grief.

That the enrdllment book will be
opened at the Best ‘Pharmacy on
Thursday, Al^l 2&Ch> 1926, and will
remain open until Monday, May 31st,
1926.
The enrollment committee shall
consist of O. H. Boat, M. C. Best and
P. W. Price. Those entitled to en
roll shall write their names, giving
their age and residence
- The qualification for yoKhg shall
be as follows: Voter,shall be a white
Democrat, twenty-one years of age,
or shall become so before the succeed-
— ing general election. They shall be
citizens of the United Statees and of
this State. They shall also have re
sided in the State two years and in
the county six months prior to the
succeeding general election, aftd in
the club district sixty days prior to
the first primary, following their
offer to enroll: Provided, That public
school teachers and ministers of the
gospel in charge of a regular organ
ized church shall be exempt from the
provisions of this section as to resi
dence, if otherwise qualified.
All candidates shall be required to
file their pledge and pay assessment
to G. W. Manville, secretary, on or
before 12 o’clock noon, Monday, May
31st, 1926, and shall publish their
card in The Barnwell People-Sentinel
at least two issues proceeding the
first primary. The assessments shall
be for Mayor, $6.00, and for Aider-
man and Conupisskmer, $2,60. j
