ment is made of the marriage of
Miss Georgia Durken to Mr. Boncil
H. Dyches, of Barnwell, S. C., which
was a quiet event of Saturday morn
ing May 15th, the Rev. J. E. Hender
son, of the Presbyterian Church, of
ficiating.
The bride was most attractive in a
gown of soft white crepe, with all ac
cessories in similar tones. The wed
ding was witnessed only by relatives
and a small assembly of friends.
Mrs. Dyches is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Durken and is a
young girl of rare, charm and loveli
ness of nature. Mr. Dyches is the
sheriff of Barnwell County and also
has extensive fanning interests in
South Carolina. After June 1st, Mr.
and Mrs. Dyches will be at home in
BarnwelL

The children of Mrs. R. W. Dicks

By virtue of the authority vested in
me as President of the Barnwell
Municipal Democratic Club, I hereby
give notice:
That the enrollment book will he
opened at the Best Pharmacy on
Thursday, April 29th, 1926, and will
remain open until Monday', May 31st,
1926. „
The enrollment committee shall
consist of 0. H. Best, M. C. Bestsnd
P. W. Price. Those entitled to en
roll shall write their names, giving
their age and residence.
The qualification for voting shall
be as follows: Voter shall be a white
Democrat, twenty-one years of age,
or shall become so before the succeed
ing general election. They shall be
citizens of the United Staters and of
this State. They shnll also have re
sided in the State two years and in
the county six months prior to the
succeeding general election, and in
the club district sixty days prior to
the first primary, following their
offer to enroll: Provided, That public
school teachers and ministers of the
godpel in charge of a regular organ
ized church shall be exempt from the
provisions of this section as to resi
dence, if otherwise qualified.
All candidates shall be required to
file their pledge and pay assessment
to G. W. ManvHle, secretary, on or
before 12 o’clock noon, Monday, May
31st, 1926, and skall publish their
card in The. Barnwell People-Sentinel
. at least two issues precceding the
first primary. -The assessments shall
be for Mayor, $5.00, and for Alder
nUp, and Commissioner, $2.50.
