WilUe Kelly, a negro boy libout 15
years of age, was arrested last week
by Chief of Police^. B. Ross, charged
with robbing Vickery Bros, garage.
Some of the articles stolen from the
garage on the previous Sunday night
-were found in Kelly’s possessipn and
he is said to have confessed to' the.
crime. He was lodged in jail v to
await trial at the next te^m of
Court. ' r ' • ■
On Sunday ’ hfrofning. Chief Ross
searched the house occupied by Le
roy McLemore, colored, and others
and found several boxes of cigarettes,
etc., which are alleged to
'stolen from the Barnwell Fruit Co.,^
by whom the negro is employed.
McLemore is said to have confessed
also, and it is understood that Mr.
Nick Coclin, the proprietor, agreed
to let him work out the value of the
goods taken. ~ . ~
No'arrests have been made in con-,
nection with the robbery of Mazurs-
ky’s Department Store, but it is un-
derstoeef-that the authorities have a
clue as to the identity of the guilty
parties. _ *

attended services Sunday afternoon
at the Church of the Holy Apostles,
at which time the former made a short
address to the congregation.

Mr. J. B. Grubbs, who represents
the Williston Hardware Company,
was a business visitor here Monday
and stated that he installed a “Frigid-
aire” in the home of Col. J. E. Har
ley a fews days ago and will install
one for Mr. H. P. Compton this week.
His company is enjoying an excellent

It was reported heie this week that
th'e plant, etc., of The Williston Way
was s#*ld Monday under foreclosure
p/occtdings to Mr. J. A. Kennedy,
attorney, for $50. It will be recalled
that Mr. J. A. Latimer sold the
paper several months ago to Messrs.
Nowell and Whitlock, whose journal
istic career seems to have l*»en some
what tempestuous. It is understood
that, for the present at least, Mr.
Kennedy will edit and manage the
paper. *
