Allendale Holds ' Successful Clinic '■\ ■_ .... ■ Allendale,, Jan. 3I»^-Qwning partly to the^coopefation received from local physicians and local organizations the free throat and chest clinic, which was iconducted at the court house in Allendale Tuesday of Mast week was a success. One hundre d und four persons were examined, 74 whites and 30 Negroes. Of this num ber more than 30 had been exposed to tuberculosis in ^their homes or other places. Among this latter group considerable literature was distributed, giving instruction^ on building up the general health _ and ^wistance ^nd avoiding.. the disease. Fifty-four white persons and 18 Negroes were given the special chest examination by Dr. W. ^ Atmar Smith of Pinehaven sanatorium near Charleston. Winston, Feb. 4.—Miss Georgia Scott, popular manager of Smith’a Drug Store had on display last Sat urday the first bunch of asparagus seen so far this, season.
