A precious one from us is gone,
The voice I loved is stilled;
A place is vacant in my heart,
W'hich never can be filled.

She has gone to live with Jesus
And I feel that she is there;
I hope some day to meet her,
In that happy land so fair.
The moonlight stars are gleaming
Upon a silent grave;
Where sleeps without dreaming,
The one we could not save.
She is sleeping, sweetly sleeping, ^
