Belasko Tura Envelops Show Producer of World of Pleasure I earn ed From Muster Sh* *muit. In all his long career ns a thea trical producer David Belaco has yet to stage a musical revue. Yet in World of Pleasure the spuit of the dean of American showmen is evident. Anton F. Scibiiia, who produced World of Pleasure, was at one-time a member of the Belasco staff and frankly credits much of the success enjoyed by the new extravaganza which comes to The Vamp Theatre, Friday, December llth, to his tutel age under the master. “Among the many attractions of Mr. Belasco’s long line ef successes is his meticulous attention to detail and his care to npver allow the audi tor’s interest to lag,” declared Scibiiia in a recent interVfew. Mr. “Of course it is not possible to use pre cisely the same' methods In reVue as In drama. In the latter there is the plot to intrigue. In extravaganza a Mr. Humphries Returns. It is a source of genuine pleasure to the many friends of the Rev. R W. Humphries to know that he has been reassigned as pastor of the Barnwell Methodist-Church, the ap pointment being announced at the Methodist Conference in Darlington Sunday. Mr. Humphries came to Barnwell a year ago and in the past twelve months he has won the friend ship of everybody here. Other appointments for this sec tion are as follows: Alledale, Wood row Ward; Appleton, J. P. Attaway; Springfield, E. K. Garrison; Denmark, W. H. Hodges; Olar, C. P. Chewing GROWING OLD TOO FAST. The kidneys are the blood- kaleidoscopic succession of events,, filterg un< , thpy W( . ak( . nf the effect singing, dancing and comedy must be afforded with such celerity that the action is never allowed to slow up." Comment of the press, from cities thus far visitod by World of Pleas ure, acknowledge that for opulence of investiture and good taste the revue is well worthy of a Belasco play. Those who recall the long line of’Belasconian’s successes from The Girl From the Golden West down to The Harem and the Dove, realize what this comparison means. Elsewhere is the influence of the master apparent. Especially is this ♦ rue of the tableau vivant founded on Hans Mnkait's famous painting, Diana at the Hunt.
