While attending the Fair on Fri day- afternoon, Mrs. Ben Ray was taken seriously' ill with acute indi gestion, falling on the grounds near the Court House t She was canned to the Court House and every attention given her until the arrival of a phy sician, when she was given medical aid. Last reports from her bedside indicate steady improvement. Annual Rally Day. The many friends of Mr. F. L. Hair are congratulating him upon his recent prorhotion to Special Agent and Inspector of the Life and Caus- uality Insurance Co. of Tennesseee. Mr. Hair has been with this company for the past three years and is mov ing his family to Columbia this week, where he will make hia headquarters for the present. The ladies of the Barnwell Paptfst Church realized a substantial sum last week from the operation of their lunch stand, which is located be tween the Bank of Western Carolina and Mazursky’s Department Store. They plan to sell hot lunches there during the winter, the proceeds be- ing for the ~ngty churcTiT)uilding fund.
