A Correction .
fci
Mr. Tom Bolen, of this city, caught
a loon in his backyard yest6rpay
morning and the strange visitor has
attracted considerable attention here,
being on exhibition in front of Mr.
Bolen's barber shop. It is thought
that the bird lyns either exhausted
by a long flight or was partially diss
alili-d by flying into a wire. A loon
is a fish-eating diving bird and the
one caught by Mr. Bolen is nearly as
large a goose.

Stop That Backache
16 Killed in Storm.
Sixteen persons were reported kill
ed and more than a score injured by
a tornado, which struck Pike County,
Alabama, early Sunday. Many tyimes
were destroyed, causing thousands of
dollars damage.
Many Barnwell Folks Have Found
the Way.
i 1 1,1,1
A dull, nerve-racking .backache
wearing you out? Do you feel older
and slower than you should? Are
you tired, weak and nervous; find it
impossible to be happy, or enjoy the
good things around you? Then there's
something wrong and likely it’s your
kidneys. Why not get at the cause?
Use Doan’s Pills—a stimulant diuretic
to the kidneys. Your neighbors re
commend Doan’s. RtAd what this
Barnwell resident says:
T. J. Attaway, prop, grocery,
Main St., says: “My back bothered
me and when I stood long, my % back
got tired and there was a steady ache
through my kidneys. ' My kidneys
were disordered and didn’t act^ freely
enough. This complaint was pain
ful, too, at tmics but I used Doan’s
Pills and they corrected all the trou
ble.” ''

We wish jto correct the statement
of last week’s issue that Mrs. C. B.
Ray entertained the members of the
Presbyteian Church cf Barnwell. The
correspondent no doubt had reference
to an Informal meeting of a commit
tee of ladies from the Woman’s Aid
Society who met with the Board of
Deacons to discuss raising funds for
covering the church. As a result
of this meeting the board has on hand
sufficient funds to recover the church,
