Barnwell route 1, left yesterday for
Jacksonville, Fla., where they will
spend a month. Needless to say, The

Mr. E. V. Hagood has returned to
his home in New York City after
spending a week here with his mother
on Washington Street. Mr. Hagood
holds a reponsible position with The
New York Times.
Mrs. Angps Patterson entertained
a number of the younger set Monday
evening in honor of her niece, Miss
Sarah Patterson. Games and danc
ing were enjoyed, after which the
hostess served delightful refresh

E. E. Goodson. Mrs. Davis returned
to her home in Marion Sunday after
noon, but Mr*. Willis will remain in
Barnwell for some time.
Miss Elizabeth Humphries has re
turned to Columbia College after a
pleasant visit to the home folk. She
was selected by the authorities in Co
lombia to represent Barnwell County
in the great pageant, “The Making of
America,” which was held during
Fair Week, and her many friends re
joice with her in this signal honor
which was conferred upon her.
Mr. and Mrs. T. K. Bolen and little
son, Billy, have returned from Val
dosta, tla., where they visited Mrs.
Ella Bolen. Mr. Getson Bolen, who
for the past few months has been con
nected -with his brother in business
here, accompanied them to Valdosta,
where he goes to accept a position.
The many friends of Mrs. Sarah A.
Owens, mother of Mrs. W. M. Jones,
will learn with regret that she had the
misfortune to fall and break her left
arm several days ago. However, she
is doing very nicely at this time and
it is the sincere hope of he# friends
that she will soon be able to be out
among them again.
