Reed and Miss Estelle Padgett motored to Dunbarton Saturday af ternoon. Messrs. W. L. Cave and Perry B. Bush were among the many Barnwell Deople who attended the State Fair last week. Little Billie Riley, of Blackville, spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. J. W. C. Reed. Mr. M. B. Hagood and son, Miles, went up to Columbia fii irsdi.y to at tend the State Fair. M^sys Maude Brabham and Graves, who are students at Columbia Col lege, spent the week-end with the former’s parent*, Mr. and Mrs/James Brabham. Bonner spent Monday with relatives at Appleton. Mrs. B. L. Easterling has returned after a pleasant visit to her son, Mr. Eugene Easterling, in .Greensboro, N. C. Jowers, of Williston route three, were visitors in Barnweb one day last week. While here Mr. Webb became a member of The People-Sentinel’s family of satisfied readers. Messrs. Hagood has returned to his home in New York City after spending a week here with his mother on Washington Street. Mr. Hagood holds a reponsible position with The New York Times. Mrs. Angps Patterson entertained a number of the younger set Monday evening in honor of her niece, Miss Sarah Patterson. Games and danc ing were enjoyed, after which the hostess served delightful refresh ments. / Hercules News. Hercules, Oct. 27.—Mr. Willie Still, of Eilenton, spent the week end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Still. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Templeton made a business trip to Blackville Satur day. Mrs. Mozelle Creech is visiting her sister, Mrs. J. H. Still. Mr. Wilton Creech, of Elko, is a visitor in this section. Messrs. Walker Still and Freddie Tucker visited Mr. C. F. Creech Fri day night. , Mr. and Mrs. Furman Creech spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Creech. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Creech are the proud parentfe of a lilttle girl. Grady Davis, of Marion, were thf week-end guests of Mrs. Willis’ daughter, Mrs. E. E. Goodson. Mrs. Davis returned to her home in Marion Sunday after noon, but Mr*. Willis will remain in Barnwell for some time. Miss Elizabeth Humphries has re turned to Columbia College after a pleasant visit to the home folk. She was selected by the authorities in Co lombia to represent Barnwell County in the great pageant, “The Making of America,” which was held during Fair Week, and her many friends re joice with her in this signal honor which was conferred upon her. Mr. and Mrs. T. K. Bolen and little son, Billy, have returned from Val dosta, tla., where they visited Mrs. Ella Bolen. Mr. Getson Bolen, who for the past few months has been con nected -with his brother in business here, accompanied them to Valdosta, where he goes to accept a position. The many friends of Mrs. Sarah A. Owens, mother of Mrs. W. M. Jones, will learn with regret that she had the misfortune to fall and break her left arm several days ago. However, she is doing very nicely at this time and it is the sincere hope of he# friends that she will soon be able to be out among them again.
