Samaria and the uttermost parts of
tha-earth. As He outHnod His plan,
I think I see Peter going to Him and
saying, ‘Master, I understand what
You want, and I am willing to go with
the other brethren.’ Jesus no doubt
was pleased with his willingness, bqt
possibly «e said, ‘Peter, I am glad
that you are wilUng to go but I don’t
want you to go UNTIL you have
been empowered by the Holy Spirit
from Heaven.’ And ao the greatest
need of Blackville and communuity is
not particularly better streets or
homes or stores or business places;
it is not more schools, more churches,
more preachers, but it is TO HAVE
MEN AND WOMEN OUT AND OUT
FOR GOD AND FILLED WITH
THE HOLY SPIRIT. Many of our
places of worship are possessed with
a religious stagnation and spiritual
lethargy that is paralysing both
preacher and people, and unless every
church member is prepared to get
into a closer touch with God, and be
emproved afresh by God, the
church is going to lose out. Dr. John
'’♦t stated awhile ago before a great
company of ministers' the following::
"Unless the churches get back to the
old paths of prayer, passion and
power, and then go forth to evange
lise and win men to Christ WE ARE
DONE.' This special empowering
from Gbd is the need of every
preacher, every office bearer, every
Sunday schoo^eacher, every church
member, every father and every
mother.”
Mr. Stephens gave some thrilling
instances of experiences he bad passed
through in his evangelistic w.jrk and
then told in a most touching way the
story of his mother’s wonderful life,
and when he gave the call for rdl
who would let God nave HIS WAY
in Blackville, a great company of of
fice bearers, men and women, came
forward and dedicated their lives
anew to God. It was a service never
to be forgotten and ther.j was not a
dry eye in the great tent.
On Sunday night the tent wac 61 lei

Great plans are being made for
this week-end. Friday night will be
a very special service, for everybody.
Saturday night, there will be a special
service for the colored people, who
will be addressed by Mr. Stephens.
On Sunday afternoon two great mass
meetings will be held at 3:30. one for
the men in the tent addressed by Mr.
Stephens, and the other for women
in the Baptist Church, addressed by
Mrs. Stephens,' assisted by Mrs. Per
kins. On Sunday evening at 7:30 a
great evangelistic service will be
held and Evangelist Stephens’ sub
ject will be "Is man a lost creature
without God? Is there a hell? Does
God send anyone there?”
There will be no services on Mon-~
day evening as this is rest day for
the party.

She was asked to what she as
cribed her long life. She replied that
she had always eaten vegetables and
has always enjoyed a fine appetite
and still does. She eats almost any
thing she wishes and enjoys It, but
she is partial to a diet of vegetables.
Hard work has always been her por
tion and Mrs. Connelly believes that
*
this has had much to do with preserv
ing her health.
Mrs. Connelly was asked if she cared
to live longer, and she replied that
she did not, as her body was tired
and she would welcome the long
sleep. She had always led an active
life and now that her body refuses
to respond to her will she has no de
sire to prolong her life. Being con
fined to the home is gradually ebbing
away the spark of mortality and her
wish to join the members of her
Denmirit’4 family who have gone before will not
long be delayed.
The devotion between Mrs. Jones
and Mrs. Connelly is very touching
and nothing is left undone to make the
last days of this splendid woman
comfortable, so far as tbe family can
make it.
