TO BEiHDWN AT
Canaries Will Form a Musi*
tal Department.
Savannab, Oa.—Human musicians
will not be the only songsters entertain
ing visitors to tbe 1925 Georgia State
Pair, which opens at Savannah on Oc
tober 26 ami runs through October SL
There will be feathery musicians as
well, especially /canary birds, whlcb^
will be on exhibition in the annual
canary show as a feature of the pu
stock division of the poultry and
pigeon department.
In the opinion of the managemeat,
canary birds can he produced and mar
keted profitably; in fact, there is quite
; an industry now in which canaries are
bred and sold as a money-making
business in Savannah and other places
in this territory. The industry. II H,
felt, is entitled to expansion, and,
therefore, a canary bird department
has been made a part of the State
Fair program. * ~ -
There will be a special space for
the display of the canaries, and tbo
premiums will be awarded, both for
winners in the Savannah contests and
in the general contests.
