Craig, Esq., has recently been appointelit-d as a member of the County Board of Education for Pick ens County. This is a very important position, as the paramount issue il the state government to-day is the school question. Mr. Craig states he believes the. first duty of the govern ment is to educate its eitzens, and that an educated citizenry is a gov elnment's best asset. With Mr. Craig as a member of th' C'.unty Board of Education, having takcn the place of Mr. C. E. Robin son, recently resigned, the school work w:ll continue to progress. Mr. Craig states that he is glad to accept this position as it will place him in a position to be of a great deal of benefit in the way of helpi-ng give the boys and girls of today, wvho are the citizens of tomorrowv, a better and.broader education. Cut The other members of the Cut Board of Education are F. V. Clay ton, Superintendent of Education, and J V. McElveen, Superintendent og the Easley High Schools. If a census could be taken in Pick ,ens county on the question of "Who's I Who;" Samuel B. Craig would un doubtedly be placed on the list. He served on this Board for two years, showing to the State that a young man could dispense sound andI rational judgment, and for his efficiency while holding this position, he made friends throughout the en tire state.
