M Carrie Hagen who has been a visitor" here for the past two weeks returned to her home in Greenwood Friday. Rev. C. R. Abercrombie of the Pick ens Mill filled his appointment at Salem, Oconee county, last Saturday and Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Hester had a new baby girl to arrive at their home on the 5th inst, and named her Nada Dorothy. The many friends of Mrs. F. T. Cox.regret that she is unable to walk or do anything. She has been ill for about four months. Mrs. Mack Farmer has returned to her home near Pickens after a delightful visit to her daughter Mrs. R. H. Henderson in Anderson. Mrs. L. K. Starr has returned to heir home in Atlanta after a very pleasant visit of a week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Bruce in Pick ens. Mrs. Ada Farmer and daughter Miss Sarah, primary teacher in the Pickens school, now occupy rooms with Mrs. Ada Alexander on Iampton avenue. Mrs. G. R. Hendricks has been very ill with pneumonia and at the same time Mr. lendriecks was very sick. We are glad to report both are now better. The January meeting of the Pickens chapter U. D. C. will be held next Friday afternoon at half past three o'clock with Mrs. Frank McFall and Mrs. Wayne Mauldin as hostesses, at Mrs. McFall's residence. The many friends of Miss Olive Newton are sorry to hear that she has been ill at her home since the be ginning of the holidays. She has been teaching at Clio, Marlboro coun ty, for quite a wvhile and will resume her duties there as soon a convales cent. Miss .Elinor Knight, who has been music teacher here for about six teen years now has a class of thirty. Seldom has this class been happier than when they enjoyed the Christ mas party given them by Miss Knight and Mrs. Clayton Newton at the lat ter's home. Miss *Leora Henderson delightfully entertainedl quite a number of her friends Tuesday afternoon in honor of her eleventh birthday. Cox, of Pickens filled the regular appointment here on Saturday and Sunday, owing to the fact that the church had no regular pastor.
