'TC . a. t of South Carolina: For "the purpose of furnishing ample acdommodations and a con fortablo journey for the delegates and others of South Carolina, who will attend the Southern Baptist Convention, Chattanooga, Tenn., May 12-18, 1921, the Southern Railway will provide through day coaches and pullman sleeping cars from Charleston, Columbia, Spartanburg and other points as may eb required. The cars will be attached to Carolina Special and handled through to Knoxville, and from there by special train, on the following convenient schedule: Wednesday, May 11th. Lv. Charleston 7:30 a. m. Carmel Sunday, the pastor failing to come. We suppose it being so uin likely with roads so bad. The roads in this burg are needing some at tention. The.re has been some' cheap cotton planted, if only Mr. Jack Frost won't visit it. The frost on the 12 did some damage to gardens and fruit. J. K., son of Mr. and Mrs. E. P. McAdams, is confined to his bed with a light case of pneumonia. Mr. Richard Harrison bas been sick for the last few days. Hope he will be able to be at work soon. Junior McAdams is improving slowly after a long and worrisome case of pneumonia. The many friends of Mr. G. W. McAdams did him a kind favor the 12th inst. by plowing a half day. With a dozen plows moving they did a lot of work. We hope he can have his son to work soon. Misses Mertie and Lois Millenton and Amie Davis spent last Sunday, the 10th, with 'Mrs. Veda Duncan near Dacusville. All report a nice time. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Davis and chil dren, of near Greenville, spent Sun day night, the 10th, with the latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. K. Mc A dams. Mrs. Ballenger and daughter and Mrs. B. Skelledton, of near Cross well, were the evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Skeledton on the 12th. School will close at Vineland Fri day, the 23rd. Miss Osrie Carpen ter has been prncipal with Mrs. Veda Duncan assistant. There has been a successful term and we hope it will continue so with the future terms. There wvas a singing at Mr. and Mrs. Earle Day's Sunday evening. We keel) noticing in the papers that there will be an early relief to the broken hearted farmers, but it seems it won't come soon enoug'h.
