Williams filled his regular appointment at Peters Creek Sunday, The infant daughter of Mr. J. E. Friddle is very sick at present. Mr. and Mrs. Mack Looper spent the week-end with the latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Singleton. Mr. Clinton Robinson, of the U. S. N., was visiting home folks recently. Mr, and Mrs, Clyde Duncan visited the home of Mr. W. E. Simmons Sun day. Mr. John Stephens and family, of near Easley, worshiped at Peters Creek Sundays . Miss Mattie Robinson was a visitor at the home of Mr. W. E. Hunt Sun day. Clonie, the little daughter of Mr. Merritt Looper, was buried at Nine Forks November 6. 'Bunny. Oolenoy News School opened Monday with bright prospects for successful work. Lawrence and A. C. :Sutherland, Jr. of the Easley Graded School were here for the week end. Earle Keith was a business visitor to Greenville one day last week. Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Batson, of Mari etta, spent one day last week with the latters parents here. Jas. A. Hendricks visited his son Prue, at Camp Jackson last Sunday. Mrs. Grover Keith and Mr. and Mrs. S. F. Keith of Gre-:ville visited rela tives here last Satu .lay and Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lynch, of Pickens spent last week witui relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Edens, Sr. have reieved word that their son Walter had been seriously wounded in France. Young Edens is with the 30th Division of the National Army. He has many friends who are grieved to hear of his condition and hope for his speedy recov ery. Sgt. Jack Sutherland, who Ihas been on a visit to relatives, in Easley was expected for the week end at the Suth erland home, but he was unexpectedly recalled. . Altho' complete returns from the War Work Campaign cannot be gotten yet those in charge did faithful work. These were Miss Ione Hendricks and Miss Pearl Sutherland for Oolenoy,Miss Lillie Fortner for Pleasant Grove. Miss Bessie Fortner, Rock and Mrs. W. M. Elrod in New Town. The response in all cases was done willingly and the workers did faithful work. The colored people in Pumkintown also contributed a nice sum, the solici tors were Charlotte Gowans and Nettie Downes. They report that no one re fused to help. Golden Creek News. Mrs. Paul Land and baby left last week for Central to make her home with her parents. Mr. Land was as signed and enteredi service at Camp Wadsworth during the recent draft. Mrs. A. Kay and daughter Miss Mag gie were shopping in Liberty Friday. Mr. James H. Hunter returned last Wednesday from Baxiey. Ga, and will make his home in Norris.
