Dewey Price to his father, J. S. H.
Price. Mr. Price is "somewhere in
France" and has lately seen service In
the front line trenches. Dewey says
that he is having a fine time and since
he has become hardened to the arduous
duties, his work seems light and pleas
ant. Private Price extends many thanks
to the people of Seneca for the numer
ous remembrances during the Christinas
season. --Seneca Journal.
Young Price is a native of Pickens
county and people here will be interested
in hearing from him.
Mrs. Mary E. Holden died at her
home in Oconee county on March 11th,
at the age of 94 years. Her husband,
Elisha Holden, died about the close of
the civil war. Mrs. Holden was the
mother of eleven children, and of this
number six preceded her to the grave.
The surviving children are: F. G. Hol
den of Mountain, Ga. ; Mrs. William
Burgess, of Jocassee; Mrs. R. M. Lusk.
of near Pickens; Mrs. 1. H. Cantrell
and Mrs. W. M. Perry, of Little Rivet
section of Oconee county. The de
ceased had been a member of the Bap
tist church for many years and funeral
services were conducted at Little Rivet
church by Rev. C. 1t. Abercrombie, as
sisted by Rev. W. T. Belvin and Rev,
Mr. I ludson.
