Eugene Yongue of Greenville spent last week-end with his parents here. Mrs. J. B. Newbery is quite ill. We hope she will soon improve. The many friends of Miss Clarice Keith will regret to learn that she is very sick. Mr. and Mrs. H. S. McKagen of Greenville are visiting relatives in Pickens. Mrs. J. P. Carey and daughter, Miss Floride, spent last Saturday in Green ville. Mrs. C. Eusterday of Greenville spent last week-end with Mr. and M-s. J. P. Carey, Jr. A turkey dinner is the attraction for next Friday in the Hollingsworth build ing. He sure to go. Ralph Hester went to Atlanta Satur (lay, where he will take a course in a business college. A turkey dinner will be served in the Hollingsworth building next Friday. A number of pretty spring things wil be on sale also. Don't forget the turkey dinner to be given next Friday by the ladies of the Methodist church in the Hollingsworth building. The Woman's Missionary society of the Methodist church will meet in the ladies' parlor of the church next Friday afternoon promptly at 4 o'clock. Rev. Henry Stokes of Clinton preach ed an able sermon to a large congrega tion at the Methodist church here Sun day morning. There will be an entertainment at Peters Creek school house, Friday night, May 4th, beginning at 8 o'clock. The public is cordially invited. Oscar R. Cothran, a Pickens county boy, enlisted last week in the United States army in the hospital corps. le was sent to Fort Scriven, Ga. The roads and weather being favor able, Dr. D. M. Ramsay will speak at Montvale school house next Sunday afterpoon, the 22nd, at 3:30 o'clock. Everybody is invited.
