Hunter, a prominent citizen of Liberty, was a welcome visitor at the younty seat one day last week. The Parent-Teachers' association will aold a meeting at the school house Wed iesday afternoon, March 14, at 3 o'clock. The W. M. S. of the Pickens Baptist 1hurch will hold a white sale at some 2onvenient place on Main street March 30, 1917. The local .W. C. T. U. will hold a meeting at the home of Mrs. Vesta McFall next Thursday afternoon at 3:30 )'clock. It is hoped that there will be a full attendance. Frank Kirksey, who has been in the lower part of the state several months in the interest of the Chicago Portrait Co., spent last week-end with friends and relatives in this county. Several pleasant hours were spent by the members of the Entre Nous club with Mrs. J. T. Richey as hostess last Wednesday afternoon. A delicious salad course was served. Mr. and Mrs. B. W. McWhorter of Liberty announce the engagement of their (laughter, Addie Leola, to Mr. William Allison Richbourg, the wedding to take place in June. The board of trustees of Six Mile academy met in the county superin tendent of education's offlice on the 6th, six of the trustees being present, be sides Dr. 0. L. Stringfield, the financial agent of the school, and Rev. A. E. Brown, the superintendent. Among the things acted upon by the board was a decision to enlarge the girls' dormitory. The school has outgrown its present boarding facilities. Mr. Sloman, Isaac Hamburger& Co's. clothing representative spent three days with Folger, Thornley & Co. last week, taking measures for tailor-made cloth ing. This is a popular line of men'i clothing and the business done was verl satisfactory. R. T. Hallum, county superintenden of education, and several teachers o the county will attend the state teach ers' association, which meets in Colum bia, Thursday, Friday and Saturday o this week. The Greenville District Conference o the Methodist church will convene ii Greenville at the Hampton avenu, church on the 21st, inst., at 81 p. m The delegates elected from Pickens ar, Frank McFall and J.
