Simmons, at her home near the old Camp Ground on Thursday, the 6th at8 o'clock, p. i., Oolenoy suffers the loss of a most estimable ladv. It was hero that she was born, reared and lived until 4 months ago when the) left the old home for the one above ientioned. But we still claimed her as be longing to us. This brief sepa ration had only served to strengthen the affection which we held for her, to realize more fully whit her presence among us meant--the kind loving friend the accommodating and goner ous neighbor-w'e loved her. Mrs. Simmons, nee Nancy Medlin, was the daughter of the late Michael Medlin. She was 72 years of age and had been married for 49 years. Two brothers, R. S. Medlin, of Daw sonville, Ga., S. H. Medlin, of Waihalla; one sister, Mrs. Betsy Holder of Six Mile; three daugh ters, Mesdames Mary and Tex anna Finley and Martha Holder; four sons, J. D., J. L., S. L. and Arthur Simmons, beside a hus ba nd, survives her. She joined Oolenoy Baptist church fifty-odd years ago. A remarkable fact in connection with this was that she was the first one to join by experience since a period of eitirt years. Her death follo wed a two days' illness of intense suffering. On Satnrday, the 8th, her boly was brought by way of her old home and interment made in the cemetery here. Fu neral services were conducted by Rev. LaFayette Powell. Des pite the <lisagreeable weather, the church was filled with sor rowiig relatives and friends to pay the last respects to the dead --our beloved friend. In a recent communication to a friend here, she enclosed the followinv lines: T'i- wity %''ans d itrk uad t I rT i ry*, iTe st il I 11111 iali .\tid I nin tireul iuiul wearv .\itul long to go 1) nim .
